Registry Scam PC Health Kit
PC Health Kit removal instructions
What is PC Health Kit?
PC Health Kit is a registry cleaner program that many consider being a scam. It makes claims to clean your computer and fix errors when in fact these claims cannot be proven. PC Health Kit is a registry cleaner and Windows system optimizer designed to speed up a computer. However, after the program scans the computer, often without prompting, and "finds" dozens of things wrong, it will demand extensive payment to "fix" those apparent problems. In fact, on a completely clean computer we ran PC Health Kit and it found a dozen to hundreds of critical issues. Many anti-virus and anti-malware products also detect this as a PUP, or a potentially unwanted program.
More importantly we feel that PC Health Kit falls more on the scamware side based on the tactics it uses to try to get a user to purchase the software. It is very aggressive in its marketing and for most users they feel that it is needed or they will face sudden consequences to their computer. May experts on the subject consider this type of scan snake-oil even and should never be purchased. Also, consider there are a lot of really great free PC optimization programs on the market as well as many paid programs that do not use any form of egregious marketing or make false claims with the intentions of getting sales. PC Health Kit is not one of these reputable products in our opinion. We feel that PC Health Kit is a type of scam because of the type of errors that it reports and the actually performance or stability improvements it claims to fix. Registry cleaning as a whole is not completely necessary these days for simple corruptions, the type that PC Health Kit reports on, as Windows itself can completely fix these issues without any interventions.
